Memory Lane

Ive seen this on a couple of peoples blogs and thought it would be fun to try....
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Lincoln's Prayer

So Lincoln volunteered to say the bedtime prayers last night. He's never said one beginning to end before, we usually have to help him after a few sentences. Last night this is what he said:
"Heavwenly Fawber...
Mmm 'ess Grammy G....
Mmmm 'ess Grammy and Papa....
Mmm 'ess me poop my pants....
Name Jesus Christ....
Amen."
For those of you who don't speak Lincoln, he blessed his Grammy G, Grammy and Papa and that he wouldn't poop his pants anymore. Dave and I both had to try REALLY hard not to laugh out loud. So cute.

Flaming Gorge

We went boating up at the Gorge this past weekend. Lincoln discovered that he can swim all by himself with the type of life jacket he was wearing. He had no problem just jumping off the back of the boat and swimming around. He LOVED it. He also discovered that he loves to fish. Grammy bought the boys all their own Mickey Mouse fishing poles and Lincoln loved to "cast and reel". Uncle Shawn was nice enough, again, to secretly catch fish on his pole and then hand it over to the kids and let them think they caught a fish and reel it in. One thing Lincoln didn't really like was the wave runners, which surprises me. He doesn't like to go fast. Our little dare-devil-afraid-of-nothing-boy doesn't like to go fast. Kyler, on the other hand, is a nut on them. He loves to go fast and dip the front end down in the wake and get all wet. He's crazy, but Dave loved taking him and listening to him laugh and laugh as they went faster and faster. Grant isn't mentioned much in this because Grant just kind of hung out and ate treats. He doesn't really care for the water too much. Well, he loves warm water, just not lake water. He's too little to really fish. And he's impartial with the wave runners...doesn't love it, doesn't hate it. But I think he still had a fun time being on the boat. Here's a quick video of Kyler and Lincoln fishing. Lincoln's trying to tell Kyler how to do I think. Funny since Kyler is definitely a seasoned fisherboy and it was pretty much Linc's first time.

Oh, by the way, we owe some big thank yous from the weekend. To the Greats for giving us a bed to sleep in Friday night and for watching Grant while we went and watched Batman. (SUCH a good movie...I want to go see it again already). To the Farris' for letting Grant take a nap and play while we got some shopping done in Orem and just for hanging out with us. And BIG BIG thanks to Grammy and Papa for taking Lincoln all weekend so we could make a quick run to Orem to eat and shop. They had him from Friday til Sunday and that's A LOT of time with Lincoln :)

The Great Outdoors

So the boys LOVE playing outside. Which I love as well because it gives me a break from them running around inside the house screaming. The usually play really well together and are both all boy. They always end up covered in dirt and Lincoln has recently discovered how to dig for worms. He loves to show me every single one that he finds and then put them in his little dump truck. Gross. I grabbed the camera yesterday and got some cute pics of them playing. Enjoy!

The Month of June

Okay, so where did June go?! We had such a fun and busy month, but it seems like it came and went before I even realized it was here. So I'm going to copy after my friend Tami's blog and give you all a June recap:

Jace Troy Martinsen was born June 25 @ 6:05 pm. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long. For those of you who don't know, he is the third child (all boys) for my younger sister Steph and her husband Shawn. Jace has been such a good baby. He NEVER cries...seriously, never. He's content just to sleep and hang out and get molested by all the other little boys that are constantly surrounding him. Lincoln and Grant both adore him and it's really cute to see them interact with a baby. Especially Grant since I still considered him a baby...or at least I did until I compared him with Jace :) Congratulations Martinsens!

I had my 10 year high school reunion on the 21st and had such a good time. It was great to see people I haven't seen since high school and almost everyone looked the same.

(Tami, De'dy and Me.)

Except some of the boys...more of them seem to have put on a little lovin' from the oven if you know what I mean.

We saw Dave's show Friday night, spent the day at the lake Saturday (thanks Dearths for turning your boat into a day care), went to the reunion dinner Saturday night, and then bowling.
Both nights we played Rock Band until 2 am and ate way to much candy and Doritos and oreos and drank too much coke. Ahh, just like high school again. Except now the junk and pop seems to add a few instead of magically disappearing like it use to. Thanks to Autumn and Ashley for putting together a great reunion.

Grandpa Troy had a birthday on the 26th. Austin made him a birthday cake (Austin's 1st and it turned out great) and we sang and ate over at the Martinsens.
Grandpa got to spend the day with all 5 of his grandsons. It's a testosterone zoo in this Meier family now :)

We've spent some time at the lake on Papa and Grammy's boat and the wave runners. The boys both really enjoy being on the lake and in the water. Lincoln went fishing for the first time off the side of the boat a few weekends ago. He caught one all by himself (well, with the help of Uncle Shawn) and was very proud. Grandpa Deuel caught one of the smallest fish I've ever seen. Really, it looked like a lure. So we gave it to Grant to hold to see what he would do. He didn't mind holding it at all and even gave it a kiss. I know, totally disgusting, but it was really cute too.

Last, but not least, the boys' latest obsession. Grandpa Troy got a power wheels mustang for Father's Day this year. It quickly turned into "Lincoln's Mustang" or so he thinks. He LOVES to drive it around Grammy and Papa's driveway. Grant is the perfect sidekick and loves to just hang out in shotgun and enjoy the ride. I must say I'm rather impressed with Link's driving skills. He zooms around, throws it into reverse, takes corners, all really well. It's reassuring to know he didn't inherit his Mother's driving skills :)
So basically, we're doing great! As you will see on the next post, Dave's been doing Annie and staying very busy with that. The boys love to be outside as much as possible and love this nice weather. Mindy is just trying to keep up with it all. It was a great June.

Annie

On Saturday Dave had his final performance of Little Orphan Annie. He's spent the past 10 weeks rehearsing and performing every night (except Sundays). While he did a FABULOUS job in his roles as man 1, man 2, Eddie, Burt Healey, and FDR, I'm SO thankful that it is over! Love seeing him on stage, love that he shares his God given talent with the Uintah Basin, love that he has his dramatic outlet, but most of all, LOVE that the Uintah Arts Council only does 1 play a year! I couldn't do more than 10 weeks a year. It would turn his "supportive wife" into his "wife in the straight jacket the boys visit on weekends".

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt...kind of :)

I took Lincoln to Act II to see his Daddy. Only Act II for 2 reasons: 1- the boy has some serious ADD, or just ants-in-his-pants, and there is NO WAY he'd sit for an entire show. 2- Dave works most of his magic (and is on stage a lot more) in Act II. Lincoln loved the show and loved seeing his Daddy up on stage. He kept telling me, "My turn Mommy. I want to go up." Ahh, I have no doubt the dramatic gene has been passed on :)

We had a lot of friends and family come to Vernal to support Dave and see him do his thing. We'd like to thank all of you who took the time to come see us/him. We really appreciate it and loved spending time with each and every one of you.

Michael Farris and Lincoln playing in the front yard.

Lincoln, Brinlee and Hannah watching a movie while the adults played Rook.

Treven, FDR and Kyler. The boys did such great job and sat through the entire show. It was Kyler's second time seeing Act II. They both sang Annie songs all weekend :)

Great job sweetheat! The boys and I are so glad to have you back home again.

5 Years & Still Going Strong

(Engagment Picture taken 2 days after we we're married)

July 1 marked 5 years from the day we eloped in Clarkston, Washington. For those of you who don't know the story, here's the quick version. We got engaged in April and set a wedding date for November. Dave moved to Clarkston/Lewiston to start his first job as a college graduate and I moved back to Vernal to wait out the few months before we got married. I went to visit one weekend in June and we decided we didn't want to wait any longer. So we got our legal papers in order, called the bishop, got in our sunday best, and drove over to the stake center in Clarkston. We had a reception in Provo in August and got sealed in the SLC Temple the following July. Apparently we like marriage so much we basically had 3 :) I just want to let Dave know how much I love and appreciate all he does for me and our family. The past 5 years have truly been the best of my life and I'm so grateful I get to spend eternity with him. Love you Quas and Happy Anniversary!
