Lincoln James

I've decided to do an individual post about each of the rugrats. I'll start with our eldest.

Dear Lincoln, aka Link,
You are now 5 1/2 and just finished your second year of preschool. You are very excited to go to kindergarten, but are slightly nervous about riding the bus. I'm sure that by the end of summer, you'll be super excited about the independence that riding the bus allows. You love learning new things. You can count to 100, do some basic math, know all your shapes and colors, and have recently gotten really good at drawing/painting. You also really enjoy doing crafts and baking.
You're in the middle of your first year of t-ball and you seem to enjoy it. You can definitely tell which kids on the team have older siblings that play...and that you are not one of those kids :) Meaning you are not extremely competitive, yet. I have no doubt, given your genes, that time will come soon.
Some of your favorite things right now:
PEOPLE-
I know, sounds weird, but seriously, you love people. You are very outgoing and we've had to have the "stranger danger" talk more than once. You don't care if it's an adult or another kid, you instantly befriend everyone you come in contact with. Along that line, you don't have any clue what personal space is. :) You are a very loving and touchy-feely boy and I wouldn't have it any other way.
BEING IN CHARGE-
You love being the boss. You like to be the leader and in charge and thankfully your little brother still doesn't mind being your minion.
FOODS-
You still love the kid basics: chicken nuggets, mac-n-cheese, french fries, and pancakes. Some of your other favorites are: apples, grapes, strawberries, carrots, green salad with ranch, and green beans. You've gotten pretty good about eating what is on your plate. Every once in a while you still have a meltdown over dinner, but those meltdowns are getting to be few and far between.
TV-
Your favorite shows right now are: bubble guppies, phineas & ferb, team umizoomi, max & ruby, and jake & the neverland pirates. You love almost all the Disney/Pixar movies. You seem to go through phases of watching the same one over and over and right now your top three are The Little Mermaid, Tangled and Despicable Me. I love that you're not prejudice against the "girl" movies. You had your first dance recital last week, for break dancing, and loved it. You're very good with choreography and love to perform for a crowd.
FRIENDS-
Your little brother is still your best friend. My heart breaks knowing that there will come a time, probably not too far in the future, when that statement won't be true. But as of now, you love playing with Grant and he loves playing with you. Kyler is also one of your best friends. Whenever you have something new or discover something exciting, he is the first one you want to show/tell. Your Grandparents are also some of your favorite people. You seem to have an extra special spot in your heart for them. All of them. You really do love to be with them. And finally, your Dad. You love to wrestle/fight with your Dad. You also love to push each other's buttons. You idolize your Dad and find the things he enjoys to be your favorite things as well.

You love to swim. You've taken swim lessons a couple times now and we're hoping by the end of this summer you'll be able to swim without a life jacket. When you do have a life jacket, you're like a fish. You have always had no fear of the water, which in turn scares us.

You love your sister. You're a very good big brother and helper with all things Lucy. I know that if I need to leave you in charge of her for a minute, that you won't smother her with kisses or try to put things in her mouth. You love to make her laugh and smile and she, in turn, adores you.

You're a handsome young man. Most kids are cute. Not you. You're handsome. And yes, the girls have already noticed. You had 2 girlfriends in your preschool class, Larissa and Clara.

Your Dad and I are so excited to see what the future holds for you. We say you're well on your way to being a lawyer, given your love for arguing and just how your mind works. We're so proud of you and love you the most.

6 Months Old

My Lulu is already 6 months old. I know I say this every month, but seriously, where has the time gone?! Lucy still loves to eat. Proof is in the gazillion pics below :)

These were her stats at her 6 month wellness check:
Height: 27 inches (97%)
Weight: 17.15 lbs (80%)
Head: 17 inches (75%)

*She's still not rolling over consistently. She can roll over. She just usually chooses not to. I think I've seen her roll a total of 4 times.

*She can, however, sit up by herself for long periods. She's gotten really good at sitting up and playing with toys that are scattered around her. We still keep a pillow behind her just in case.

*She's moved on to baby food with meat. She loves the turkey and sweet potatoes combo. She also like the chicken and apples combo. Her favorite though is still baby oatmeal. She eats a big bowl of it every night before bed.

*She's gotten her two bottom middle teeth. I should know the technical term for them, being as Lucy has 2 aunts that are dental assistants. I'll work on that for the next update :)

*She is no longer nursing. Her Mommy had to cut her off in order to take some good allergy pills. Lucy doesn't mind her bottle or formula though. One of the perks of giving her both from the get go. I think stopping was harder on Mindy than it was on Lucy.

*She is a very happy baby. She usual has a smile on her face and is developing a great giggle.

*She talks. A lot. And it's loud. So far it's a lot of babble and high pitched "aircomingoutofaballoon" type sounds. They are all adorable.

*She is a great sleeper. She likes to go to bed around 7:30 pm and doesn't wake up until around 6 am. The past few mornings she hasn't gotten up until after 7 am.

*She really is our little princess and we are so blessed to have her!

2 bottom teeth coming in!
