1st Day of School

I love the end of August for a few reasons: summer is finally ending (I'm a fall person), getting closer to the holiday season and best of all, school starts again! As much as I love having my boys home for the first  month of summer vacation, we are all so ready to back on routine and schedules by the end of August. Lincoln is in 2nd grade this year and Grant is going all day now in 1st grade. Grant is doing a dual immersion program which means half of his day is taught in English and the other half is taught in Spanish. He'll be learning all his math, social studies and science in Spanish.

Lincoln has Mrs. Luck

Grant has Miss Lynch and Senorita Rubio

A Bean and His Bike

We FINALLY taught Grant how to ride his bike without training wheels in August. Poor kid gets put on the back burner a lot of the time and we're so thankful that he doesn't have middle child syndrome...yet. I guess I shouldn't really saw we taught him, because his very first time on his bike sans training wheels, he rode it. Perfect. Like he'd been riding without little helper wheels his whole life. He didn't fall one time or really even need Dave to help him balance. He's awesome. Way to go my little stud muffin.
