Halloween 2011

I'm trying to catch up with blogging...it's amazing how fast an entire month goes by!
We had a great Halloween this year. The boys had lots of activities and got to wear their costumes on more than one occasion.

Grant had a dress-up Halloween parade at preschool. Because he goes to speech class on Friday's, he got to do the parade twice. He loved being a pirate and didn't mind a bit putting on make-up to look the part.

One of our local grocery stores, IGA/Davis Jubilee, did a big trick-or-treat/games the Saturday before Halloween. The boys loved trick-or-treating in a grocery store and had a great time playing all the games and decorating sugar cookies. I loved that it was all for free :)

We have 9 kindergartners in our neighborhood. They all ride the bus together and Lincoln took it upon himself to invite all of them to his Halloween party. The one that he failed to first ask his Mom if he could have :) I couldn't get mad, it's totally something I would've done too. So I let the boys have a little lunch party on Halloween as soon as kindergarten got out. They played pin the wart on the witch, destroyed a pinata and ate lots of yummy food.Pumpkin veggies and mummy hot dogs...dirty q-tips (marshmallows dipped in butterscotch) and pumpkin pizza...bloody band-aids (graham crackers with frosting), witch's brooms and monster teeth (apples with pnut butter and marshmallows)...

sorry the pictures blow.

Freaky GhostDave's going to kill me for posting this picture :) We went to my parents house, after trick-or-treating, to eat and hang out. They had some melted white chocolate and Dave was dipping everything into it. When he dipped a banana, however, I couldn't hold back and had to remark how "adult" it looked. The good sport let me get a picture, which he now probably regrets.

We hope you and yours had a wonderful Halloween.

Lil' This, Lil' That

These pictures were taken Sept. 28th. Our temperatures have been so bipolar this year. I think we had an inch of snow on the ground just a few days before this. The boys were excited to have one last go with the sprinkler.

I've mentioned the obsession with Angry Birds. I wasn't exaggerating...these boys are crazy about 'em. Lately they've been playing "real life angry birds" outside. This was one of the times that "the piggies captured the birds and made the birds stay in the trees".
This is another time when "all the birds and piggies wanted to have a leaf party with the pumpkins". They got a rake out of the garage and spent a good 30 minutes raking all the leaves into a pile. When they were done playing, the boys pushed the big garbage can over to the pile and proceeded to put all the leaves in the garbage. All this without any prompting or recommendations from me. Sweet little butt-kissers.

11 Months

I figured I better get this post done since Lil' Miss will be ONE YEAR OLD next week! I've been awful at taking pictures lately. Life is busy and the camera is usually the last thing I'm thinking about. I only have 2 different sets of pictures of Lucy between month 10 and 11. Sorry girlfriend.
Some of her milestones this month:
*is so close to walking. She loves to stand and can take a few steps before falling.
*still loves food. She's eating everything we give her to try and eats a lot of it.
*gave up bottles and is drinking whole milk from a straw sippy. She was taking a bottle at night before bed, but stared to chew on it more than drink from it, so I just stopped giving them to her. She hasn't wanted one since.
*all of her hair is long enough to put into a ponytail. It's the cutest thing ever.

Sleepy Heads

These two really are the best of friends right now. I cherish it. It makes my heart so happy to see how much they not only love one another, but truly like each other as well. We've found them in some funny sleeping positions lately. They're going to hate these pictures/video in a few more years! Who says you can't blackmail your teenage boys? :)
