turned 92. About a month ago, on a Monday, the doctor called and said she had 12-48 hours left. My parents flew up to say their goodbyes. (She lives in Twin Falls/Jerome, Idaho.) We couldn't go up because Dave was in the middle of performing 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and I didn't want to take the boys on a 12 hour car ride alone. To make a long story short, she got worse on Tuesday, stayed about the same on Wednesday, then on Thursday said, "I tried, but I guess they don't want me. I don't want to die anymore." That was that. By Friday she was already better then she'd been all week. Now she looks just as good as when we celebrated her 90th bday two years ago.
We have a special relationship with Grandma White. When we lived in Nampa, we'd try to drive to Jerome (where her house is) at least once a month to visit with her. She loved watching Dave on the news and would watch him every morning. Dave was sent to the Twin/Jerome area a lot for stories and Grandma always welcomed him and his crew to her home so they could do their editing and have a quick snack.

She's still smart as can be and hasn't lost any of her smart ass humor that I love. She always knows how to make everyone in the room laugh, and is very quick to chuckle herself. She told Dave, "I should have birthday's more often!" Happy Birthday Grandma! We're glad you stuck around so we could celebrate it with you :)
