Gracie 8 Months

Grace is now 8 months old. She made a huge leap, as far as growing progress goes, this past month. She's not only sitting up by herself all the time, but she's rolling from stomach to back all the time. She doesn't actually roll across the room, more of stays in the same spot just goes from front to back. I've been trying really hard to not encourage any kind of movement form her...I'm not ready for my baby girl to be mobile. Her bottom teeth are almost all the way up and I think her top ones are getting ready to make an appearance as well. She loves big girl food and is a great eater. She still nurses and still won't take a bottle. I think I'm giving up on the bottle all together. She does use a sippy with a straw, so at least she knows how to drink out of something. Her little personality is really starting to come through and she's quite the little comedian. She's starting to really love making her brothers and sister laugh and really engage with them. She's still my smallest but loudest child. Apparently she inherited her Daddy's voice box. The sheer volume that this girl can create is impressive. She's a very happy and content baby and we're having so much fun watching her grow. Love you Gracie Bug.

We had our family pictures done in May by Sandi Shurz. She did a good job considering the little girls didn't really want to participate. These are all of them in a sepia tone. If you want to see the color versions, you'll have to come see them on my living room wall :)

Lego Club at the library. The assignment this day was to make a flag. I don't remember what country Grant chose (and I'm too lazy to look it up), but Lincoln chose to make up his own for Angry Bird Land.

 The boys were so excited that it had finally started to warm up. They couldn't wait to put on their swim suits and flood out the sandbox, even though it was only a scorching 59 degrees outside!

She's learned how to watch the movies in the car.

This is what happens when I'm shopping and leave a new tube of not purchased yet toothpaste in the cart with Lucy. She got it EVERYWHERE! We ended up buying to tubes that day.

 Dave and I got to join Lincoln for his 1st grade read-a-thon. We brought blankets and pillows and laid on the gym floor to read books and eat doughnuts.

 This was a ROUGH morning. I came into the living room to find this nice little surprise. Marker on the wall, couch and girl. Complete with two TURDS waiting on the tile. About 20 minutes later she was in COMPLETE meltdown mode. Then nothing tops off a screaming tantrum better then smacking the wall, which made a framed picture fall off and shatter. *sigh*  It's really a miracle either of us survived that day.

Lucy had come into our room one morning around 7 am (her usual). But instead of asking Dave to turn on Tinkerbell like she usually does, she snuggled up to him and fell back asleep instead. They were both completely out!

Yard sale time! The boys loved selling doughnuts, again, this year. Grant didn't last very long, but Lincoln tried to tough it out. That kid is a natural salesman.

Grant had a 1st grade preview where he went to school all day. This was Lucy's reaction to him when he finally got home. She hugged on him for at least 2 solid minutes! She seriously missed her brother and Grant was in heaven that Lucy missed him so much. It was so sweet.

Seems like everyone likes watching Tinkerbell on Mommy & Daddy's bed.

"What do you mean it's 9 pm and I'm supposed to be in bed?!"

I told you she loves to accessorize! This has become her usual  bling for any given day.

Grant's last day of Kindergarten!

Drive-In movie date night. It was Oz and The Host. I fell asleep within the first 20 minutes of Oz. We Oz was over we left, because it was already midnight and our babysitter needed to get home. It was still a really fun date, sleep and all.

 Saturday afternoon shooting. Dave takes the boys out every now then, but hasn't taken Lucy yet. Grace and I tagged along too, just in case he needed help. Turns out Lucy likes watching them shoot, but was done after about an hour (truth be told, she lasted longer then I did). I don't think Dave has ever been more proud of her then he was that day :) His princess is tough!
