Halloween

This was the first year I got Dave to dress up and the first year that Lincoln "got" Halloween. Link was a lot of fun and loved being a "hag-a-bur". The weekend before we had a neighborhood costume walk. Basically the kids just walked around the big circle and then ate some treats. Country Halloween folks. On Halloween we took the boys to the rec center where they had a Halloween Carnival. It was really busy so we didn't stay too long. Lincoln is about 2 years too young for it still, so he didn't mind leaving early. The boys had a good time because they got to decorate cookies and play a few games. Then we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. Lincoln LOVED it. He did a great job going up to all the doors by himself, knocking on the door (or just opening the door and letting himself in as he did on 2 occasions), holding open his bag and saying "Trick-a-Treat" very loudly. It think the two most random things he was called were a "cookie" and a "turtle". Yes, the sweet old people that called him these things were VERY old :) He even waited until we finished our round before trying to eat any candy! Grant liked it, but was done after about 5 houses. He wanted to just eat the candy he had and not continue to get more. Then Dave and I took the boys over to Grammy and Papa's where they got even more candy and treats. Grammy and Papa were sweet enough to take the boys that night for Friday Night Slumber Party while Dave and I drove out to Salt Lake. Let them enjoy the sugar high :) Happy Halloween!
