MFV: Day 5

Day 5 we went to San Juan, Mexico. Lucy had a really bad heat rash and was up all night itching. Poor Dave scratched her all night long. So he decided to stay on the ship with her and take her to the ship doctor and then hopefully get some sleep (he didn't end up getting into the doctor, but they did get a good nap. I bought some cortisone cream in town and it helped a lot). I headed into the city with the boys, Grace and the rest of the family crew. San Juan was beautiful and had a lot of history....I can't actually recall any of it, but we did a little tour and heard a few fun facts and saw incredible old buildings. I'm blaming the lack of recall  on Mommy Brain. We also shopped, hung out in a fun city center type courtyard, and went to a little roadside beach. Considering my kid's ages, they did really well. The whole "port" thing really is suited for humans older than 12.

She was so good to nap in her stroller.

One of the street vendors. You'd pay him to take a pic or touch this iguana.
There were TONS of pigeons. We payed some dude for pigeon food to feed them. The boys didn't really like it. But let's face it, feeding them was basically like being attacked by birds. Austin and Kyle got a kick out of it though.
There's a law that you can't have alcohol on the street in an open container.  Gpa improvised and pored his in a coffee cup. Problem solved :)

The boys were excited to collect sea shells on another beach. The pictures make it look like it wasn't good weather, but I don't remember it being bad? Grace was tired and hungry, so I sat on the little tour bus with her while they boys played in the ocean.

My sweet matchy matchy princess'.
Lucy was on this weird kick where she liked to lick Grace.

The boys actually stayed awake for all of dinner that night!

MFV: Day 4

Day 4 consisted of three big things:
1- St. Thomas,Virgin Islands
2- Pirate Night
3- Mom's 50th BIRTHDAY
Finally some land! The Island was beautiful.
It was overcast at 7 am, but we ended up with great weather later in the day.
We usually take a "beach" vacation, so most of us were antsy to get on a beach and in the ocean. My Dad, nephew Treven and brother-in-law Shawn all went fishing. Losers. The rest of the cool kids took a short taxi ride to a beautiful beach. We spent the morning/afternoon playing in the ocean and enjoying the sunshine. I can't remember the name of the beach, but the area was stunning.

Steph, Issac and Austin

The birthday girl didn't want her picture taken...
I don't know why- she's hands down the youngest looking 50 year old I've ever seen!

Don't let this picture fool you...Lucy LOVED the ocean!

Grace was there too.
I had to keep the sweet little pork chop out of the sun.
She has her Daddy's skin :)

There was lots of napping going on.

Our view driving back from the beach.
That's our boat on the left hand side.

Drunken pirate Gruntabee
Hung over pirate Linc
Heat rash pirate Louie
Happy pirate princess Grace

A family of swash bucklers.

This stage show was cute.
A little too hyped up, in my opinion, but still cute.

This sweet pea hung out in her stroller every night at dinner. She would usually sleep for a little bit, then wake up and just chill.
Finally some dinner!

It was a long, but fun, day!
I think he fell asleep at dinner every single night.

MFV: Day 2 and 3

*I forgot to mention in the last post that I didn't bring a camera on this trip. I know, I know, way out of the norm for me. But we had too much stuff already and I knew my hands would be full (literally and figuratively) , so most of these pics were taken with my phone and some from Steph's little camera.

Day's 2 and 3 were spent at sea. We spent a lot of time in the pool/waterslide and eating. The eating was non-stop, but that's what you're supposed to do on a cruise, right?! The clouds rolled in for a little bit during one of the days, but this Utah clan didn't mind even a little bit. Temps dropping to the 60's is not a reason to stay inside! It was a tiny bit chilly, but was great because everyone else abandoned the waterslide. We were able to do it a few times and walk right on instead of waiting the 30-40 mins that you usually have to wait to get on.
The boys had A LOT of nuggets and fries. They loved being able to go get them all by themselves when ever they wanted. I held Grace like this...a lot. She was still in her "I don't like anyone but my Mom" phase. I can't remember why Lucy was in her jammies?

Letting Disney cartoons babysit Gracie while we all attempted to get ready for the night.

Up in the club. We went to a battle of the sexes game before dinner.  It was fun , but would've been more fun without the girls. We took the boys to kids camp and should have dropped the girls off in the daycare as well. I guess I can always say I was with my girls when they went clubbing for the first time.

We talked Dave into doing some karokee. He's the only one in the family that can sing and also doesn't mind performing for a crowd. He sang One Jump from Aladdin. Lucy wanted to help him sing the first verse, then she got stage fright and wanted nothing to do with it. He did great, and as always, kept us very entertained! I wish the boys could have seen it though. They would've gotten a kick out of it.

"Meat" was getting tired of walking and wanted a ride. Lucy was happy to oblige.

Grant was cold after swimming on day 3, so he asked to take a bath. The tub was small, but the fact that we even had a tub was a big deal (at least from the past cruises I've been on. Bathrooms are usually teenie tiny). I laughed pretty hard when I went to check on him. He reminded me of Gollum.

There was a beautiful sunset on day 3. The boys were out on the balcony enjoying the warmth and view. Or so I thought. Turns out they were too glued to their ipads to notice anything else. Kids these days...

Before dinner we took the kids to get their picture taken with Jessie and Woody. The Toy Story movies are Lucy's absolute favorite and I thought she would be so excited to see the characters. Turns out a 6 ft tall Woody actually scared her and she wanted nothing to do with him. At all.

Waiting to get into our restaurant for dinner. They loved being able to look out  the windows and see nothing but ocean. It really was beautiful.
