I planned on writing a big long post. Maybe list 34 things I love about him. Or do 34 pictures of him growing up. I'm having a really hard time putting what I feel into words, but I think this quote sums up why:

Gale Reunion 2009

My parents were sweet enough to let us use their Mesquite house again this year for our Gale family reunion. This has been our third year doing it and the second year in a row where the whole family was able to come. We had a new addition this year, Miss Rylie, and it was so good to finally see her in person. With all the kids being a year older though, it sure felt like more than just one addition. They're all bigger and louder and crazier (the louder and crazier mostly came from my two I'm sure).
It was so great to hang out and relax with family all weekend. We ate, and swam, and ate some more, and went to walmart 3 times a day, and ate more, played some rock band, had Christmas, did Mom a surprise b-day party, went to Red Robin in St. George with all the adult couples and ate (which was one of the highlights for me), and listened to a killer mix cd that Dave put together. All in all the weekend was a huge success! Thank you to all my Gale family that puts in the miles and time to come together. It wouldn't be the same if someone was missing. And a BIG thanks again to my parents for, as always, going above and beyond with their generosity.

Elva Stout White

Elva Stout White was born August 1, 1917 in La Verkin, Utah.

She finally joined her husband, Ivan, on October 31, 2009 in Farmington, Utah-although her home was in Jerome, Idaho.

She was 92 years old.

We were very close to Great Grandma White. The 2 years we lived in Nampa, we tried to visit her often. Dave would stop by with his news crew and cameras at least once a month to do some quick editing before heading back to the station. Grandma was always so excited to see him and would welcome him in and usually try to feed him and his crew something. She loved and treated Dave like he was an actual great grandson and he loved and treated her like she was his actual great grandmother.

Easter will forever remind me of my Great Grandma/pa White and Jerome. We spent a lot of Easters at their house and those are memories I will always cherish. It's never the same doing Easter anywhere else. It makes my heart hurt a little that my boys will never know Easter that way.

Great Grandpa White passed away 7 years ago. Grandma's been lonely without him and has been wanting to go be with him for some time now. She kept her sharp sense of humor and memory until the very end. We went to tell her goodbye in August, and even then she was saying how much she missed sex. Lol, I'm glad they're reunited, but I really don't want to hear about it :)

I'm so grateful that my boys got to meet, and be apart of, their Great-Great Grandma's life. I'm even more grateful that she was able to be a part of mine for so long and that we had such a close relationship. I'm going to miss her oh so much, but I know she's with Grandpa and where she wants to be.

Pumpkins, Snow and Broadway

We finally carved our pumpkins last night. I thought the boys would really get into it this year, love the guts and seeds and grossness of it all. Nope. The had on their big girl panties and wouldn't touch anything that was even remotely slimy. Go figure. They did like the carving of the pumpkins though. I let Lincoln draw the face he wanted on his and then I cut it out. Dave let Grant help with the carving process on his. It was the fastest and cleanest carving we've ever had. I think the boys' favorite part of the night was lighting the candles that go inside.

It snowed last night and this morning. When Lincoln and Grant woke up, Dave had them look out the window and they freaked out. Lincoln has been so excited for it to snow for some reason. He was ready to go to the snow cabin RIGHT NOW. He's been asking to go out and play in it all morning, but I'm too lazy to go find snowsuits, gloves, hats, etc. So instead I let him go stand in it for a picture. Surprisingly enough, he was satisfied with that. Simple pleasures.
